Living History Day 2018
In affiliation with Smithsonian Magazine’s Museum Day Live!, Pacific Aviation Museum Pearl Harbor will bring America’s history during World War II to life at its annual Living History Day. Event will feature student-created exhibits, WWII themed games and activities, re-enactors, and much more. In our Museum Theater, we will hold two screenings of the award-winning film “Go For Broke: An Origin Story”, followed by Q&A panels with the cast and crew. Also in the theater, we will host a Hangar Talk with portrait photographer Shane Sato, who will discuss his coffee table book, The Go For Broke Spirit: Portraits of Courage. The Nisei Veterans Memorial Center will host a book-signing and talk by “The Go For Broke Spirit: Portraits of Courage” photographer Shane Sato on Saturday, September 29, 2018, at 1:30 p.m. at the Maui Adult Day Care Center hall located on the NVMC campus, 665 Kahului Beach Rd, Kahului. The talk is free and open to the public but donations are welcome. Space is limited so call 808-244-6862 to reserve a seat.

Oral historian Robert Horsting of The Go For Broke Spirit will be at Friends and Family of Nisei Veterans Reunion in Las Vegas at California Hotel.

From May 4th - June 10th 2018, my exhibition "Portraits of Courage" will be here at 355 E.1st St. in Little Tokyo. I would have never dreamed that I would be able to show my portraits in such an important building to the history of the Japanese Americans!
Please join us for a Grand Opening weekend reception on Sat. & Sun. May 5-6, 2018 as Shane Sato, Robert M Horsting and a few of the Nisei veterans will be on hand both Sat. & Sun from 11 am to 6 pm to sign books.
"Portraits of Courage" will be located in the historic former Nishi Hongwanji Buddhist temple site on the west side of the plaza at First St. and Central Ave. in Little Tokyo. The entrance will be the same museum entrance as the Go For Broke National Education Center museum. Admission is FREE!!

The Great Nisei Reunion III will be held on Sunday, Nov. 12, at 2 p.m. at the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center, 1935 Manhattan Beach Blvd. in Redondo Beach, and will feature The Harry James Orchestra and The Modernaires. Also on the bill are the dynamic Island Crooners and special guest Mary Kageyama Nomura, “The Songbird of Manzanar.”
